Ed Goard’s team manages our Total Return strategies as well as our more conservative strategies, which seek to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns by taking advantage of bond market inefficiencies in three key ways: sector allocation, credit selection, and active interest rate and yield curve positioning. The analytic process begins with a top down view of the world that is complemented with thorough credit analysis and a collaborative decision-making process that combines the best of quantitative, fundamental, and qualitative analysis. The strategies are managed by a cohesive team of highly focused portfolio managers and analysts who seek to identify opportunities that create the most value for our clients. The team has an average industry experience of 17 years.
Ed’s team also manages our Convertible Securities strategies. Our Investment Grade Convertible Securities philosophy is centered on bottom up research and has remained consistent over the last 25 years. The objective is to achieve superior returns while minimizing risk by identifying and remaining fully invested in convertible securities which possess the following characteristics: 1) strong underlying equity potential, 2) high quality financial characteristics, and 3) the opportunity for solid total return over a 12-18 month time horizon. Senior members of the team have been together since 1998 and have employed the same investment philosophy and process since inception. The team has an average of 29 years of industry experience.
